 Q: When do I have to pay for the service?

A: The initial consultation is free. If you choose to use our service, you would pre-pay at the end of the consultation or leave a check for your pet sitter to pick up at your home. Desert Canyon Pet Services currently accepts Cash or money orders for new clients.  If you are an established client of ours we also accept checks.

Q: Why should I use Desert Canyon Pet Services when I could get a friend, relative or neighbor to do it?

A: It's great to have a friend, relative or neighbor that you can count on to help you out; however, we have training and are bonded, insured and prepared for emergencies. Most importantly, we won't ask you to watch our pets when we go on vacation!

Q: What areas do you service?

A: All throughout Flagstaff, Coconino County as well as cities: Flagstaff, Cosnino, Doney Park, Kachina, Mountainaire, Baderville, Forest Highlands.

Q: Are you bonded and insured?

A: We are insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associated, LLC.  Our insurance covers pet and home sitting, pet transportation and pet waste removal. In total we have over $2,000,000.00 worth of combined insurance and bond!  Our coverage includes accidental breakage, mysterious disappearance and re-keying the entire house in case of key loss. All employees have their background and driving record thoroughly checked in addition to drug testing.

Q: Are you currently a member of any trade associations/organizations?

A: Yes, we are currently members in good standing of the following organizations:

    -- National Association of Dog Walkers

    -- Professional United Petsitters

Q: How many visits a day will you make to my home?

A: That's up to you!  Most people request 2 or 3 visits a day for dogs and 1 or 2 a day for cats and small caged animals.  Whether you need us once, here and there,  or become regular clients we are happy to serve you and your pets.

Q: How much notice for a cancellation is needed and what if I need service at the last minute, do you take last minute reservations?

A: Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours before scheduled service, unless service was scheduled over a holiday period.  Cancellations during holidays must be made 10 days in advance or there is a 25% cancellation fee.  Cancellations during regular days made within 24 hours are charged a 25% cancellation fee.

For last minute reservations call us and if you are already a client and we have your pets information on file, we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule.  However, for short notice reservations additional charges may apply
